You can have a profitable online business if you have 2 things, and if you do 1 additional thing.
Because I coach people, I hear a lot about the trials and errors and struggles of trying to get an online business that can actually bring in profits, and that can help you replace your day job, or supplement your retirement income.
You are not alone in this quest.
There’s a lot of help out there for you.
There are courses, software, and personal coaches to guide you along the way.
Some are better than others, of course.
Unfortunately, some will attempt to take advantage of you by selling you things that could, but probably won’t help you along.
I come from a background of being in the trenches every day.
I’m constantly showing folks how to build a profitable online business.
I’d like to offer you a 3 step approach that can help you get up and running.
Commitment
Here’s something that there is no training, teaching, tutorial or course for.
You must have a very strong sense of commitment to having a profitable online business.
I think one of the tell-tale signs of someone who won’t make it is when they tell me “if this doesn’t work…”
Or they say things like “I’m going to try this for a short time, but if it doesn’t work…”
These are people who do not “have what it takes.”
Here’s the very first thing “it takes”… the very first thing you must have.
You must have, not just a sense of commitment, but a very strong sense of commitment.
If you are going to be successful, you can’t ever wonder what if you fail.
There is no “fail.”
Never.
There will be failures, but they will not add up to failing.
They will simply be stepping stones to success.
There’s also no such thing as a “Plan B.”
There is only one plan… to succeed.
The reason you will not fail is that you are driven by your “why.”
You must always be reminded of why you need to succeed.
Who you need to succeed for.
Exactly what your ultimate success will look and feel like.
This is what will fuel you daily, unending commitment.
Clarity
In addition to commitment, it’s critical to have clarity about the actual path to success.
How will you achieve what you want?
What will be your exact strategy?
There are many good routes to take.
One is only better than another insofar as it suits your individual strengths and skillsets.
You can build a profitable business online by doing affiliate marketing.
Learn how to build a following around your niche, then sell them affiliate products and services that they serve their needs.
It’s really that simple.
The details can get quite intricate and there are many many ways you can promote your affiliate products.
But, in essence, you need customers and you must locate products to sell them.
It’s not unlike running an antique shop.
You know that you need to go to auctions and estate sales to find the kinds of things your customers want.
But that’s just one business model… affiliate marketing.
You can also build a content site and sell memberships to people.
Or you can create digital information products and sell them to people.
You can operate and monetize a blog.
You can create multiple niche sites.
You can run an ecommerce site and sell physical products to your customers.
You can become a representative for a company and frequent social media sites to network with people, and have them join your team.
You can offer services… many different types of services.
Maybe you can do copywriting, social media management or something else for your clients.
The fact is, there are many business models you can adopt.
There are tons of different and overlapping strategies you can deploy.
But you must have a very clear plan mapped out so you don’t just meander all over the internet looking for an elusive foothold to run a profitable online business from.
Clarity is of the essence.
Consistency
Now, for the one thing you must do.
You must take you plan and implement it.
More importantly, you must implement your plan consistently, each and every day.
Too many people come online waiting for an “aha moment” when it suddenly becomes clear what they must do.
Too many think that implementing means waiting for inspiration.
If you decide to hold off implementing your big strategy until you are struck with inspiration, then you’ll probably wait a very long time… and then quit your dreams.
To achieve your dream of running a profitable online business, you must treat it like a business.
That means, you show up at your home office every single day.
I don’t care if you work from your kitchen table, you must sit down at regular hours on a daily basis and implement your strategy.
You can always alter your strategy, your plans, even your niche and your entire business model.
But you can never ever vack away from consistently working through the process you have set up to achieve success.
If you have a full time job, maybe you only have 2 hours a day to put into your business.
Work those 2 hours consistently, daily, without fail.
If you consider yourself full time, then you should plan on putting in 8 hours a day until your business is actually making a profit that you can live on.
Avoid working 12 hours one day, then 2 the next and 4 the third.
Strive for consistency.
Work through the process you have devised each and every day, for the amount of time you have allotted, and preferably during the same time slots each day.
You Can Have A Profitable Online Business
Those are my “3-C’s” to strive toward.
The 2 things you must have are Commitment and Clarity.
The 1 thing you must do is work your process Consistently.
Keep to this structure and you can have a profitable online business.
To the extent that you stray from it, your chances to succeed will be diminished.
